You've been Rickroll'd

I was delighted, this long weekend morning, to discover that a new internet meme has been brewing right under my nose. "Rickrolling" refers to posting a link to a YouTube video, with the link unexpectedly leading to a Rick Astley video.

Sweet and Sour

The Sweet:

A Sweet So Sour: Kool-Aid Dills

Having just recited an entire Kool-Aid commercial to both my siblings through MSN, I am thoroughly intrigued.
Kool-Aid pickles violate tradition, maybe even propriety. Depending on your palate and perspective, they are either the worst thing to happen to pickles since plastic brining barrels or a brave new taste sensation to be celebrated.

The Sour:

Love, Honor, Cherish and Buy

It's all true. I went to one Wonderful Wedding Show but nixed the second since I was still getting the occasionally phone call. I didn't win a thing.
“Don’t fill out the cards,” she warns her soon-to-be-married publicist from Penguin Press, as if the woman had unwittingly reached for a drink with a slipped Mickey. “You’ll get dozens of wedding vendors calling you, writing you, e-mailing you. This is a very big bridal market. The whole thing is a way of getting customers.”

Lune de miel

Some people have been curious as to whether my partner and I are taking a honeymoon this summer, and if so, where. I thought I would share our plans.

We're taking a roadtrip. The items that we hope to pack into our trip so far thus include:
And quite possibly, the Corn Palace. Don't kid yourself, I am totally up for this adventure.

50-minute jaunts

This morning, I bussed to work, and after work, I walked home.

Last summer I partook in the opposite pattern. Not only was it hard to get up a half hour earlier, but I was a mess by the end of the 50-minute jaunt each morning. I don't mind a quick clothes change, but I prefer to be presentable when I leave my apartment. Also, if I may make an admission, my flat iron doesn't travel well.

Something weird happened after supper today. I wasn't immediately overcome by the need to sleep! It was a great feeling, and I can't wait to walk home again tomorrow.
