JT in the Peg

JT accepts an award from the 2007 Teen Choice Awards:

00:36 - Justin Timberlake in SNL sketches
01:28 - Cast of Superbad presents the award
01:32 - First reference to Winnipeg
01:46 - JT mentions being in Winnipeg... nobody "woos" because nobody gets it.

This is totally going to be in the Winnipeg Free Press tomorrow.

Thanks, mom.

The Boreal Forest - Mother Nature's shop vac (WFP)
1,500 of the world's leading environmental scientists say that we need a new chorus, one aimed at cleaning up the mess that's already been made.

It goes something like this: replenish, repair, rejuvenate. Until now, these words have been the silent refrain of Mother Nature as she soaks up, washes away and regenerates our air, water and soil. (And who else but your mother would dedicate herself to cleaning up such a monumental mess without a fuss?)

From red to green?

Menstrual period goes green (Winnipeg Free Press)

I'm a little jealous of the woman in the picture because the pattern on her Diva Cup pouch is nicer than mine.

If you want to know where to buy one, go to the website and check the "Store Locator".

Note to self: don't blog while hungry

Food that travels well (NYT) - an interesting article about the life cycle assessment of food production. To summarize, locally grown isn't always more environmentally friendly, because the distance food travels to our plate is far from the only input.

Keeping that in mind, all things being equal, choosing local food will always be a preferable option. I know I'd rather pay a local U-Pick for local, sweet, normal-sized strawberries than a grocery store for robot strawberries shipped from California, during the short period of time that I'm able to make that choice in my climate.

I get my water from Shoal Lake

Stop buying bottled water. Please.
